Gift Ideas for Teens: WeMontage Removable Wallpaper

WeMontage – Your Photos on Removable Wallpaper

If you haven’t checked the calendar, the holidays are right around the corner!  Over the next several weeks we’re going to bring you some great ideas that are guaranteed to make your gift ideas for teens wemontageteen or tween think you are the BEST. Parent. Ever.

WeMontage lets you upload your favorite photos, create a custom photo collage, and print on large, removable wallpaper.

What is the one thing that all of our teens do? They take pictures. Lots and lots of pictures which is why WeMontage is a PERFECT gift for this age group. The possibilities to capture this time in their life is endless… from time spent with friends to sporting events to family vacations.. you seriously are only limited to your (and their) creativity. And it’s so simple to create a beautiful collage of all their favorite moments.. it’s seriously as easy as Upload, Create, Enjoy.

We were asked to try WeMontage and we gladly accepted because we are a BIG picture family and the leader of the pack is the 15 year old daughter. The process is true to their words… super easy and takes very little time. Correction.. once you’ve decided on which pictures you’re going to use it’s quick… good luck trying to pick out the “perfect” photos to use on your wallpaper!

We did run into a couple of challenges along the way. One was that ALL of her photos were taken on her iPhone which meant the quality of photos were sometimes GREAT and other times not so great. This has more to do with the settings when the photos were taken and will do nothing to help you when you’re building your collage. I noticed the photos taken in dim light were the worst ones (naturally) and the ones in daylight were the ones that uploaded HUGE. I took the time to upload all the ones she chose into PicMonkey to optimize them as best as I could as well as resize them to smaller sizes and we were met with the same results. My advice would be to choose photos not taken at night and if I did it again, I would add a lot more images to help compensate for the ones that are of lower quality.

The other challenge we had was that there isn’t a way to choose our own layout.. the WeMontage process chooses it for you. You can “shuffle” it and it will move them around to different spots, but it would be nice to have some input on where they go. I would also have welcomed a tool that would let you manipulate the sizes of the images inside the dashboard as I had to edit the photos and then reload them.

But that is it.. this was such an easy project that we both enjoyed doing together and she was SO excited when it arrived that I got an actual phone call and not a text! The quality is incredible and the photos looked amazing. And the fact that you can reposition it will serve us well when she decides that it’s time to rearrange her room. Again.

And did I mention how reasonably priced this unique gift is?? The size you see here is 3′ x 2′ and is only $69.99!! But wait, there’s more! Just for you, we have a…
